Scenario:
A patient has an existing record in the Medic system. Later, the same patient creates an account on the Care platform using the same mobile number. However, the new Care account does not get automatically linked to the existing Medic record. How can the Care account be linked to the existing Medic patient record?
Solution:
There are two methods to resolve this issue:
Method 1: Using Referral Link
- Ask the patient for their Medic MRN or registered phone number.
- If the patient exists in Medic, generate a referral link from their Medic profile.
- Share this referral link with the patient and request them to create a new Care account using the link.
- Once the patient creates the new Care account via the referral link, their Care and Medic profiles will be linked automatically.
- The patient will now be able to access their lab reports from the Care platform.
Method 2: Linking from Medic Using Existing Patient Details
- In Medic, initiate the process of adding a new patient using the same details as the existing record (e.g., name, phone number).
- The system will first check for any temporary Care account and display it. Click Proceed.
- Next, it will detect the existing patient record in Medic. Click Proceed again.
- The full patient details screen will appear with pre-filled information. Simply click the Save button.
- The system will then map the temporary Care account with the existing Medic record.
