Encounter configuration refers to the setup of fields displayed during the Encounter. Clinics can enable or disable these fields based on clinical relevance.
This configuration is provided to allow flexibility, as not all fields are applicable to every doctor or specialty. For example, Height may not be relevant for dental consultations and can therefore be disabled for doctors specializing in dentistry.
In addition to enabling or disabling fields, clinics can configure each field as Optional or Compulsory based on regulatory and clinical requirements. Certain fields—such as Chief Complaint, Allergies, and Problems—may be required by health authorities and must be marked as compulsory.
When a field is configured as Compulsory, the system will not allow the encounter to be ended during the encounter unless the required information is entered.
When a field is configured as Optional, the user may choose to leave it empty during the encounter, and the system will allow the encounter to be completed without entering that information.
